I charge a flat, annual fee for financial planning and a fee for managing investments. The fees are based on complexity and the amount of assets being managed. This is determined in the first meeting.
Unlike a broker-dealer, I'm a registered investment advisor and cannot charge commissions on investment products. This is one of the biggest distinctions when working with me. You'll know exactly what the fees are ahead of time instead of after the fact. Not being able to charge commissions on investments also removes a very important conflict of interest and ensures that our interests are always aligned.
